Tonight, as they would say on Earth, I must commit suicide in the dream, in the neutrino mass. I must die with Solaris and bleed with them..."

The investigation was abandoned 3,000 Earth years ago. The idea of planetary colonization on subjects like Solaris was completely abandoned, in that planetary genetic network... we can only decipher cacophonies and very old images of the matter with Solaris. It's impressive that there is still 'human' life, or perhaps it's just the agony of that being regulating its pH. In any case, certain statements or characters refer to Earth events after the abandonment. The matter has been classified by the scientific community, and the whole world has forgotten about Solaris.
